After the Tea Parties, what’s next?

 America is witnessing an awakening unlike any seen since the king tried to ram his agenda down the throat of unwilling colonials. Americans said “no!” Then, “Hell no!” And next, the king had to go.

A modern king-in-his-own-eyes now commands an army of liberal lemmings who are trying to ram their power-grabbing agenda down the throat of unwilling Americans. On April 15, nation-wide Tea Parties said “no!” Then, on September 12, Tea Parties in Washington, and across the nation, said “Hell no!”

And next, the king and his liberal lemmings must go.

American colonials knew that it would take more than Tea Parties to rid the nation of the king and his agenda. They worked without the benefit of a bully-pulpit, and organized their volunteers into troops of soldiers determined to claim the independence they declared, and earn the freedom they craved.

Contemporary Americans know that it will take more than Tea Parties to rid Washington of the king-in-his-own-eyes and his liberal lemming army. For every American visible at a Tea Party there are another 50 unseen Americans organizing into troops of soldiers determined to defend the U.S. Constitution and reclaim the freedom won by the nation’s founders.

The king-in-his-own-eyes, and his liberal lemmings, are in denial. They see the Tea Parties as nothing more than crude expressions from the unwashed masses, who couldn’t possibly know what is best for the nation.

News flash for the king: the revolution is underway!

Patriots are organizing in every state, in every county, in every precinct, to translate the energy seen at the Tea Parties into concrete plans of action. Neighbors are being nudged out of complacency to attend local meetings to learn about the voting records of incumbents, and alternatives to the king’s agenda.

Candidates who declare their support for the Constitution and pledge their vote to defend principles of less government, less taxation, and more free-market prosperity are coming forward and finding supporters.

Candidates are being measured by their Constitutional backbone; not by their party affiliation.

Arising from the crowds at all the Tea Parties is the awareness that the federal government has forgotten all about the limitations of power the Constitution imposes upon it. Americans want these limitations reinstated and respected.

A Congressman who votes for the king’s government-run health care, or the king’s “Cap and Trade” scheme, trashes the Constitution — and his oath to defend it — because not one Congressman can point to an enumerated power in the Constitution that authorizes either program.

A President rises to become a king-in-his-own-eyes — and trashes the Constitution — when he appoints dozens of czars, expressly to avoid the Constitutional requirement that executive underlings be approved by the Senate,

These examples are simply the most recent in a long train of abuses rained down upon a patient electorate, by both political parties, under several administrations. Through Tea Parties across the nation, Americans are saying enough is enough.

A revolution is underway; get on-board, or get out of the way.

Recruiters for the revolutionary army are not concerned about party affiliation. They are looking for candidates who will first pledge to defend the Constitution. Lip-service will not do; Congressional incumbents must co-sponsor, and pledge to vote for the Enumerated Powers Act (HR450), legislation that will require every Congressman who introduces legislation to cite specific Constitutional authority for the legislation.

Incumbents and aspiring candidates will have to publicly pledge to embrace a set of Constitutional principles at local town meetings in every state — before Election Day. These meetings are being planned right now. Candidates are being groomed right now. Campaign funds are being gathered right now. Incumbents — even the powerful Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — are beginning to feel the pressure of a not-so-silent majority of Americans hell-bent on reclaiming their freedom from a tyrannical government.

Ordinary people, who have never been involved, are seeking out local organizations through which their voices and their efforts can be amplified. They are reading the bills that their representatives fail to read. They are arming themselves with knowledge, courage, and the determination to demand answers from incumbents, and evict those incumbents who have failed to live up to their oath.

America’s colonials did not win their freedom in a single battle. Nor will contemporary Americans reclaim their freedom in a single election. The elections in 2010 will be the first of many battles that must be won at the ballot box over the next several years. America’s governments — at every level — must be repopulated with patriots who honor and respect the U.S. Constitution, as the first qualification of office. When elected, their task will be to stop the growth of federal power, and then begin to return to the states, and to the people, the freedom, power, and prosperity the Constitution provides.

Obama Joker artist unmasked: A fellow Chicagoan

When cryptic posters portraying President Obama as the Joker from “Batman” began popping up around Los Angeles and other cities, the question many asked was, Who is behind the image?

Was it an ultra-conservative grassroots group or a disgruntled street artist going against the grain?

Nope, it turns out, just a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.

Bored during his winter school break, Firas Alkhateeb, a senior history major at the University of Illinois, crafted the picture of Obama with the recognizable clown makeup using Adobe’s Photoshop software.

Alkhateeb had been tinkering with the program to improve the looks of photos he had taken on his clunky Kodak camera. The Joker project was his grandest undertaking yet. Using a tutorial he’d found online about how to “Jokerize” portraits, he downloaded the October 23 Time Magazine cover of Obama and began digitally painting over it.

Four or five hours later, he happily had his product.

On Jan. 18, Alkhateeb uploaded the image to photo-sharing site Flickr (shown at right). Over the next two months, he amassed just a couple thousand hits, he said.

Then the counter exploded after a still-anonymous rogue famously found his image, digitally removed the references to Time Magazine, captioned the picture with the word “socialism” and hung printed copies around L.A., making headlines.

Flickr had removed the Joker image due to copyright-infringement concerns, Alkhateeb says the company told him in an e-mail. A Flickr spokeswoman declined to comment due to a company policy that bars discussing inquiries about individual users.

Alkhateeb says he wasn’t actively trying to cover his tracks, but he did want to lay low. He initially had concerns about …

… connecting his name with anything critical of the president — especially living in Chicago, where people are “very, very liberal,” he said.

“After Obama was elected, you had all of these people who basically saw him as the second coming of Christ,” Alkhateeb said. “From my perspective, there wasn’t much substance to him.”

“I abstained from voting in November,” he wrote in an e-mail. “Living in Illinois, my vote means close to nothing as there was no chance Obama would not win the state.” If he had to choose a politician to support, Alkhateeb said, it would be Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

Although Alkhateeb claims he was making no political statement with the artwork, he’s plugged into the Washington debate. Though born in the United States, his Palestinian family closely follows Middle Eastern politics.

“I think he’s definitely doing better than Bush was,” Alkhateeb said of Obama.

He’s honored by Shepard Fairey’s assessment of his Joker picture, but disagrees with some of Fairey’s comments criticizing the message of the Socialism poster.

“He made a picture of Bush as a vampire,” Alkhateeb said about Fairey. “That’s kind of speaking with two faces.”

Regardless, Alkhateeb does agree with the Obama “Hope” artist about “socialism” being the wrong caption for the Joker image. “It really doesn’t make any sense to me at all,” he said. “To accuse him of being a socialist is really … immature. First of all, who said being a socialist is evil?”

Bill Limits Gun Regulation

A bill by state Rep. Leo Berman exempting Texas-made firearms, gun accessories and ammunition sold within the state from federal regulation and law — including registration — was heard in a House committee on Monday.

The bill also provides for the Texas Attorney General’s office to defend Texans who run afoul of the federal government because of this law.

Berman, a Tyler Republican who has pushed several “states’ rights” measures this legislative session, said his bill would affect more than 300 manufacturers in the state.

“Under the 9th and 10th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, states have responsibility for regulating intrastate commerce,” Berman said. “The federal government has no role.”

Worse, he said, the federal government would like to increase regulations.

“With the appointment of Eric Holder as U.S. attorney general, we have the most anti-Second Amendment attorney general in the history of the nation,” Berman said. “What we’re saying with this is there are some guns not subject to federal regulation. We have guns and gun accessories and ammunition here that are not subject to their regulation.”

Berman said the bill has the support of the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association. Contacted on Monday, the Texas State Rifle Association’s Alice Tripp did not comment.

Berman said his bill could also spark economic development.

“This gun bill will invite new industry into Texas, that will take advantage of intra-state commerce,” Berman said. “We’re talking about gun manufacturers, gun accessory manufacturers, and ammunition reloaders.”

Montana passed a similar bill earlier this month, and a court challenge is expected when the law goes into effect in October.

“It’s a gun bill, but it’s another way of demonstrating the sovereignty of the state of Montana,” said Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, a Democrat.

House Conservatives Demand Napolitano Resign

Still angered by a controversial report that targeted conservatives and military veterans as potential terrorists, House Republicans called on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to resign or be fired, according to Politico. The move came as Napolitano continued to defend the report despite a lack of documented terror incidents from even right-wing fringe groups. John Carter told Politico. He organized an hour of floor speeches Wednesday night to call for Napolitano’s ouster.   “The first step in the process is creating unfounded public suspicion of political opponents, followed by arresting and jailing any who continue speaking against the regime.”   The DHS report, issued earlier this month to law enforcement agencies, warned that the slumping economy “could create a fertile recruiting environment for right-wing extremists and even result in confrontations between such groups and government authorities similar to those in the past.”   Conservative bloggers and talk radio hosts called it a clear effort by the Obama administration to marginalize its critics on the right. 1.  BO wouldn’t authorize the DEVGRU/NSWC SEAL teams to the scene for 36
hours going against OSC (On Scene Commander) recommendation.

2.  Once they arrived, BO imposed restrictions on their ROE that they
couldn’t do anything unless the hostage’s life was in “imminent” danger

3.  The first time the hostage jumped, the SEALS had the raggies all
sighted in, but could not fire due to ROE restriction

4.  When the Navy RIB came under fire as it approached with supplies, no fire was returned
due to ROE restrictions.  As the raggies were shooting at the RIB, they
were exposed and the SEALS had them all dialed in.

5.  BO specifically denied two rescue plans developed by the Bainbridge
CPN and SEAL teams

6.  Bainbridge CPN and SEAL team CDR finally decide
they have the OpArea and OSC authority to solely determine risk to
hostage.  4 hours later, 3 dead raggies

 7.  BO immediately claims credit for his “daring and decisive” behaviour.
      As usual with him, it’s bs .

Philips’ first leap into the warm, dark water of the Indian Ocean hadn’t
worked out very well. With the Bainbridge in range and a rescue by his
country’s Navy possible, Philips threw himself off of his lifeboat
prison, enabling Navy shooters onboard the destroyer a clear shot at his
captors – and none was taken.

 The guidance from National Command Authority – the president of the
United States, Barack Obama – had been clear: a peaceful solution was
the only acceptable outcome to this standoff unless the hostage’s life
was in clear, extreme danger.

The next day, a small Navy boat approaching the floating raft was fired
on by the Somali pirates – and again no fire was returned and no pirates
killed. This was again due to the cautious stance assumed by Navy
personnel thanks to the combination of a lack of clear guidance from
Washington and a mandate from the commander in chief’s staff not to act
until Obama, a man with no background of dealing with such issues and no
track record of decisiveness, decided that any outcome other than a
“peaceful solution” would be acceptable.

After taking fire from the Somali kidnappers again Saturday night, the
On Scene Commander decided he’d had enough.

 Keeping his authority to act in the case of a clear and present danger
to the hostage’s life and having heard nothing from Washington since yet
another request to mount a rescue operation had been denied the day
before, the Navy officer – unnamed in all media reports to date -
decided the AK47 one captor had leveled at Philips’ back was a threat to
the hostage’s life and ordered the NSWC team to take their shots.

Three rounds downrange later, all three brigands became enemy KIA and
Philips was safe.

There is upside, downside, and spinside to the series of events over the
last week that culminated in yesterday’s dramatic rescue of an American
hostage.

Almost immediately following word of the rescue, the Obama
administration and its supporters claimed victory against pirates in the
Indian Ocean and [1] declared that the dramatic end to the standoff put
paid to questions of the inexperienced president’s toughness and
decisiveness.

Despite the Obama administration’s (and its sycophants’) attempt to spin
yesterday’s success as a result of bold, decisive leadership by the
inexperienced president, the reality is nothing of the sort.  What
should have been a standoff lasting only hours – as long as it took the
USS Bainbridge and its team of NSWC operators to steam to the location -
became an embarrassing four day and counting standoff between a ragtag
handful of criminals with rifles and a U.S. Navy warship.

In one passage, the report stated, “The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.” 

The report went on: “Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans likely would attract new members into the ranks of rightwing extremist groups, as well as potentially spur some of them to begin planning and training for violence against the government.  The high volume of purchases and stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by rightwing extremists in anticipation of restrictions and bans in some parts of the country continue to be a primary concern to law enforcement.” 

In other words, DHS is concerned that people are buying firearms and ammunition out of concern that the administration will live up to its campaign promises. 

["Some parts of the country"? EVERY single state has seen huge increases in sales of guns and ammunition since even before the 2008 Presidential election, that's because we all KNOW exactly what these "leftwing extremists" are up to! I steadfastly assert that these "leftwing extemists" are not merely interested in  "Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans" they intend to REPEAL the 2nd Amendment! Oh wait...by saying that I guess I'm now at the top of the list of DHS's most dangerous "rightwing extremists". Just remember, it's the 2nd Amendment that allows all Americans to maintain and enjoy the 1st Amendment and the rest of The Bill of Rights!]

In a passage that clearly shows antagonism to those who oppose anti-Second Amendment policies, the report says: “Weapons rights and gun-control legislation are likely to be hotly contested subjects of political debate in light of the 2008 Supreme Court’s decision in District of Columbia v. Heller in which the Court reaffirmed an individual’s right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, but left open to debate the precise contours of that right.  Because debates over constitutional rights are intense, and parties on all sides have deeply held, sincere, but vastly divergent beliefs, violent extremists may attempt to co-opt the debate and use the controversy as a radicalization tool.” 

[Translation: They know damn good and well there will be a fight involved when it comes to attacking the 2nd Amendment, why would this even be a concern at all if they weren't in fact already planning to do just that? ]

How insulting is it to claim that gun owners can’t be trusted to oppose gun restrictions without turning to violence? 

The report’s characterization of so many groups of Americans as potential terrorists, based on their legitimate political beliefs, is an outrageous attack on free political discourse in America. 

Like many of you, I am OUTRAGED by the recent Official DHS  Report “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment” released  April 7, 2009. In response to this outrage, I am starting a petition to DEMAND the immediate removal of Napolitano as Secretary of DHS.
