Rep. John Shadegg has been trying to get a bill enacted for 15 years that would simply require legislators to cite the Constitutional authority for any legislation that is proposed. His bill is called the Enumerated Powers Act (HR450). It now has 52 co-sponsors, but there is very little chance that it will ever get to the floor for a vote.

Why? Because the Democrats in Congress will not allow it.

This bill would not be necessary if the Democrats would simply follow their own rules. House Rule XIII (3)(d)(1) requires:

“Each report of a committee on a public bill or public joint resolution shall contain the following: A statement citing the specific powers granted to Congress in the Constitution to enact the law proposed by the bill or joint resolution.”

That’s right. The rules of procedure in the House of Representatives already require that every bill or resolution cite the Constitutional authority for the proposed legislation. This rule is routinely ignored.

Why? Because Democrats control the Rules Committee and the entire House of Representatives, and they routinely “waive” or “suspend” this rule.

 

{ I propose enacting a Constitutional Amendment which not only requires total compliance with House Rule XIII (3)(d)(1), but also has attached to it stiff criminal charges and penalties for violators! Every single Congressman takes a solemn oath to “Protect and defend the US Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic” Perhaps a few televised public executions would persuade these idiots to STOP violating the US Constitution!  Doc’ }

 Some people remember when Nancy Pelosi stood on her pedestal and proclaimed: “This leadership team will create the most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history” (November 16, 2006). Ignoring a House rule is a minor offense, compared to the corruption that Ms. Pelosi readily accepts when it affects her Democratic colleagues.

How quickly did she and her colleagues invoke House rules to condemn Rep. Joe Wilson when he blurted out “you lie” during President Obama’s sales pitch to congress? But when Democrat Alan Grayson uses visual aids to claim that the Republican health care plan calls on sick people to “Die Quickly,” there’s nothing at all offensive to Pelosi and her colleagues about the gross lie Grayson speaks.

But even this duplicity is minor compared to the corruption that Nancy continues to reward by her failure to take action.

After the Tea Parties, what’s next?

 America is witnessing an awakening unlike any seen since the king tried to ram his agenda down the throat of unwilling colonials. Americans said “no!” Then, “Hell no!” And next, the king had to go.

 

A modern king-in-his-own-eyes now commands an army of liberal lemmings who are trying to ram their power-grabbing agenda down the throat of unwilling Americans. On April 15, nation-wide Tea Parties said “no!” Then, on September 12, Tea Parties in Washington, and across the nation, said “Hell no!”

And next, the king and his liberal lemmings must go.

American colonials knew that it would take more than Tea Parties to rid the nation of the king and his agenda. They worked without the benefit of a bully-pulpit, and organized their volunteers into troops of soldiers determined to claim the independence they declared, and earn the freedom they craved.

Contemporary Americans know that it will take more than Tea Parties to rid Washington of the king-in-his-own-eyes and his liberal lemming army. For every American visible at a Tea Party there are another 50 unseen Americans organizing into troops of soldiers determined to defend the U.S. Constitution and reclaim the freedom won by the nation’s founders.

The king-in-his-own-eyes, and his liberal lemmings, are in denial. They see the Tea Parties as nothing more than crude expressions from the unwashed masses, who couldn’t possibly know what is best for the nation.

Obama Joker artist unmasked: A fellow Chicagoan

When cryptic posters portraying President Obama as the Joker from “Batman” began popping up around Los Angeles and other cities, the question many asked was, Who is behind the image?

Was it an ultra-conservative grassroots group or a disgruntled street artist going against the grain?

Nope, it turns out, just a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.

Bored during his winter school break, Firas Alkhateeb, a senior history major at the University of Illinois, crafted the picture of Obama with the recognizable clown makeup using Adobe’s Photoshop software.

Alkhateeb had been tinkering with the program to improve the looks of photos he had taken on his clunky Kodak camera. The Joker project was his grandest undertaking yet. Using a tutorial he’d found online about how to “Jokerize” portraits, he downloaded the October 23 Time Magazine cover of Obama and began digitally painting over it.

Four or five hours later, he happily had his product.

On Jan. 18, Alkhateeb uploaded the image to photo-sharing site Flickr (shown at right). Over the next two months, he amassed just a couple thousand hits, he said.

Then the counter exploded after a still-anonymous rogue famously found his image, digitally removed the references to Time Magazine, captioned the picture with the word “socialism” and hung printed copies around L.A., making headlines.

Flickr had removed the Joker image due to copyright-infringement concerns, Alkhateeb says the company told him in an e-mail. A Flickr spokeswoman declined to comment due to a company policy that bars discussing inquiries about individual users.

Alkhateeb says he wasn’t actively trying to cover his tracks, but he did want to lay low. He initially had concerns about …

… connecting his name with anything critical of the president — especially living in Chicago, where people are “very, very liberal,” he said.

“After Obama was elected, you had all of these people who basically saw him as the second coming of Christ,” Alkhateeb said. “From my perspective, there wasn’t much substance to him.”

“I abstained from voting in November,” he wrote in an e-mail. “Living in Illinois, my vote means close to nothing as there was no chance Obama would not win the state.” If he had to choose a politician to support, Alkhateeb said, it would be Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

Although Alkhateeb claims he was making no political statement with the artwork, he’s plugged into the Washington debate. Though born in the United States, his Palestinian family closely follows Middle Eastern politics.

“I think he’s definitely doing better than Bush was,” Alkhateeb said of Obama.

He’s honored by Shepard Fairey’s assessment of his Joker picture, but disagrees with some of Fairey’s comments criticizing the message of the Socialism poster.

“He made a picture of Bush as a vampire,” Alkhateeb said about Fairey. “That’s kind of speaking with two faces.”

Regardless, Alkhateeb does agree with the Obama “Hope” artist about “socialism” being the wrong caption for the Joker image. “It really doesn’t make any sense to me at all,” he said. “To accuse him of being a socialist is really … immature. First of all, who said being a socialist is evil?”

Bill Limits Gun Regulation

A bill by state Rep. Leo Berman exempting Texas-made firearms, gun accessories and ammunition sold within the state from federal regulation and law — including registration — was heard in a House committee on Monday.

The bill also provides for the Texas Attorney General’s office to defend Texans who run afoul of the federal government because of this law.

Berman, a Tyler Republican who has pushed several “states’ rights” measures this legislative session, said his bill would affect more than 300 manufacturers in the state.

“Under the 9th and 10th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution, states have responsibility for regulating intrastate commerce,” Berman said. “The federal government has no role.”

Worse, he said, the federal government would like to increase regulations.

“With the appointment of Eric Holder as U.S. attorney general, we have the most anti-Second Amendment attorney general in the history of the nation,” Berman said. “What we’re saying with this is there are some guns not subject to federal regulation. We have guns and gun accessories and ammunition here that are not subject to their regulation.”

Berman said the bill has the support of the National Rifle Association and the Texas State Rifle Association. Contacted on Monday, the Texas State Rifle Association’s Alice Tripp did not comment.

Still angered by a controversial report that targeted conservatives and military veterans as potential terrorists, House Republicans called on Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to resign or be fired, according to Politico. The move came as Napolitano continued to defend the report despite a lack of documented terror incidents from even right-wing fringe groups. 1.  BO wouldn’t authorize the DEVGRU/NSWC SEAL teams to the scene for 36
hours going against OSC (On Scene Commander) recommendation.

2.  Once they arrived, BO imposed restrictions on their ROE that they
couldn’t do anything unless the hostage’s life was in “imminent” danger

3.  The first time the hostage jumped, the SEALS had the raggies all
sighted in, but could not fire due to ROE restriction

4.  When the Navy RIB came under fire as it approached with supplies, no fire was returned
due to ROE restrictions.  As the raggies were shooting at the RIB, they
were exposed and the SEALS had them all dialed in.

5.  BO specifically denied two rescue plans developed by the Bainbridge
CPN and SEAL teams

6.  Bainbridge CPN and SEAL team CDR finally decide
they have the OpArea and OSC authority to solely determine risk to
hostage.  4 hours later, 3 dead raggies

 7.  BO immediately claims credit for his “daring and decisive” behaviour.
      As usual with him, it’s bs .

It’s not about Trade, it’s about Control

If you’re lucky, you have never heard of the “International Trade in Arms Regulation” treaty, or ITAR. Administered by the State Department through something called the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), this treaty is supposed to keep track of “defense” exports. Unfortunately, what you don’t know is about to hurt you.

Unintended Consequences

    DDTC’s ITAR process hummed along out of the public view for years, focusing on the major international trade in firearms and military equipment until President Bush II moved to make the directorate 75 percent self-funding. In one fell stroke, he gave the agency the power to set its own budget, and levy its own taxes.

    The results have been predictable. New rules published on Sept. 28, 2008 explosively increased fees. Furthermore, DDTC has expanded its tax base to include all “arms” trade in the United States. Civilian firms with no military or export connection whatever are getting ominous letters from their wholesalers (Brownells sent a letter to all its vendors) asking if they are “in compliance” with the mysterious ITAR.

    Subsection I(a) of the ITAR includes all firearms, barrels, “military” scopes, and all “components, parts, accessories and attachments” for any listed item. Subsection III includes manufacturers of ammunition, bullets, and technical data for the production of the above. If you cast bullets at home and sell them to your neighbors, you need to file with the DDTC. However, your Dillon press is exempt.

“Apology”? We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Apology!

“Accepting an “apology” from Napolitano would amount to allowing her to get away with tyranny, her recent so-called “apology” to Military Servicemen was nothing more than a veiled attempt to disguise her true intents and thoughts in order to continue labeling and targeting the millions of law abiding citizens she deems to be “rightwing extremists”. Does anyone really believe anything she say’s is actually sincere? Or is it more likely she merely spouts a few lies and hopes it will be enough to calm the public’s outrage over her own “leftwing extremist” statements?     For an apology to be legitimate, it must be followed by a cessation of the actions that initiated it. This past week, gun owners, veterans, and many others were incensed by a report released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that identified broad categories of people as potential terror threats based on their political beliefs, including a support for the Second Amendment. The report, entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment“ was started in 2008 and completed and released recently.  Its purpose was to highlight “rightwing” extremists who could become or be planning acts of violence; but the inclusion of groups as potential threats based simply on their political views has created a significant backlash.  In one passage, the report stated, “The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks.”
